General Care Instructions for Materials
Always follow the instructions on the sewn-in care label. Products can be machine washed at the temperature stated on the label using a gentle cycle. Do not use fabric softeners on functional garments and do not soak them in detergent solution before washing. Clothing can be ironed according to the specified temperature symbol. After several washes, water repellency can be restored using a recommended re-impregnation product.
Hand Washing
When preparing a solution for hand washing, the detergent may not always dissolve completely. A common mistake is pouring detergent directly onto garments in the bathtub — this can damage the fabric's color and result in complaints. However, this does not mean hand washing is prohibited. When using specially formulated liquid detergents recommended for hand washing, and following the instructions, there should be no issues.
Beware of Fabric Softeners
Fabric softeners compromise the water-repellent treatment of fabrics. They must not be used on garments designed to be waterproof, breathable, or windproof — in other words, on technical materials.
Washing Membrane Clothing
We recommend using a special detergent, such as Nikwax TECH WASH. Always follow the care instructions provided by the detergent manufacturer.
Maintaining Water Repellency
Reapply waterproofing treatment when water begins to soak into the fabric during even light rain. We recommend re-impregnating after every five washes.
Caring for Knitted Materials
Wash the garment with similar colors using a standard amount of detergent on a gentle cycle with spin-drying. Do not soak the garment before washing. Turn inside out and zip up before washing. After washing, reshape the garment (stretch out legs, sleeves, or back) while still wet to prevent shrinking. Hang it loosely to dry and never in direct sunlight. Do not leave the garment soaking before or after washing. Ensure it hangs freely and dries evenly immediately after washing. Maximum shrinkage is 3–5%.
Caring for Woven Materials
Wash the garment separately. Add the standard amount of detergent and select a gentle cycle with spin-drying. Do not use fabric softeners as this can impair the functionality of the fabric. Do not soak the garment before washing. After a short spin, hang it immediately over a radiator or another source of mild, consistent heat and allow
